Cut to inside. It is filled with a bunch of robots. The trapdoor is wide open and weapons are being passed up. Two, slightly more human-looking robots are standing off in a corner. One robot is standing in the center of the room, looking around with authority. He walks over to the two in the corner. '01-908, it’s been decided that your job tonight is to stay out of everyone’s way, and help with loading the ships when everything is over.' Orders 38-311. 'Yes sir!' Replies Theomore. '02-340, go and get a weapon. Your main job is to help with pickup. Shoot any still-living humans on sight.' Orders 38-311. 'Yes sir!' Replies Mary. Mary walks over to the trapdoor.

Page 36

The robot handing out the weapons hands her a canon. She takes it and goes to a spot along the wall. Several other robots gather along the wall, holding their weapons. Theomore stands in the corner, staring at them. 38-311 waits until everyone is settled before pulling out a microphone and broadcasting through the base. 'Our orders are to attack at night. Kill and gather all that you can! We pack in the morning and begin our return journey tomorrow!'

Page 37

'Yes sir!' Everyone shouts back. 'Good.' 38-311 says. The other robots stand or sit and begin chatting with eachother. Theomore walks over to Mary. Mary and Theomore sit down next to eachother. 'Mary, I do not think that you should be doing what 38-811 says.' Theomore says. 'This is why I was created.' Mary replies.

Page 38

'Then why are you not like the others?' Theomore asks. 'Because I am older and not as well made as the others. I was made to be like you. They were made to be like you but better.' Mary replies. Theomore turns away from her sadly. 'Theomore, you know that I am your friend, but I must do this.' Mary says. Mary stares at him for a moment, and then turns away and looks at the ground.

Page 39

Cut outside to show that the sun has almost completely set. Everyone except Theomore gets to their feet and stands straight, holding their weapons. Theomore looks disappointedly up at Mary. 'Everybody out!' 38-311 orders. All the standing robots walk out, following 38-311.

Page 40

Once they are out 38-311 closes the door and locks it. He turns towards the other robots. 'Now go, and leave no survivors!' He orders. They run in the direction of the city.

Page 41

Theomore is alone in the dark building. He stands quietly, staring around. He hears the sound of cannons blasting and people screaming. He goes over to the door tries to open it, but the padlock stops him.

Page 42

He stands back, and hears more blasts. He runs over and grabs a cannon. He pulls out a cannon and blasts the door down.

Page 43

He runs into the woods in the direction of the city.
He looks out on the city. Buildings are burning and crumbling, people are running, and there are bodies laying in the streets. He sees Mary, standing with her cannon lowered, staring at the destruction. They make eye contact for a second

Page 44

And then Theomore runs out into the city. He sees 38-311 and runs up to him. 'What are you doing out here?! Your orders are to stay out of the way!' 38-311 shouts. 'You have to call this off!' Theomore replies. 38-311 stares at him for a moment and the grabs him by the arm and throws him to the ground.

Page 45

Theomore tries to get up but 38-311 grabs him and pries open a small flap on his back. He presses a button and flips Theomore over.

Page 46

He lifts up his cannon and grins. Before he can shoot Theomore, he is hit by a blast. Everything is black. Slowly, the area becomes visible. It is the inside of the small shed, and Mary is sitting, looking down at you/the camera. Cut back to show that she is looking at Theomore, who is laying in the ground beside her.

Page 47

'What...' Theomore starts asking. '38-311 was about to kill you, so I killed him. You should have never left this building.' Mary says. 'What you were doing was wrong.' Theomore says. 'You mean what I failed to do. I have betrayed my purpose.' Mary says. Mary stares off sadly. Theomore sits up. 'How long was I sleeping?' He asks. 'Only a few hours.' Mary replies.

Page 48

'And what has happened in that time?' Theomore asks. 'The humans in this area have been killed.' Mary replies. 'I should have done something.' Theomore says. 'You should have stayed here, where you were safe. Now nowhere on earth is safe for either of us. We are going to have to leave the planet.' Mary replies. Mary stands up. And opens the trap door. 'Come with me.' She says.

Page 49

Theomore stands up. The two of them go through the trapdoor down the ladder.

Page 50

They go into one of the ship rooms. Mary goes around to the back of the ship and presses something. A door opens. She walks inside, into the storage area. Theomore follows her into the ship. They begin climbing up through the ship.

Page 51

Mary sits down in the pilot's seat and starts up the ship, and Theomore sits down in a seat beside the left window. Mary presses something and straps go over them both.

Page 52

She begins operating the ship, smashing through the ceiling and up out of the ground. Once they are out, Mary launches them up into the sky. They fly higher and higher. They break through the atmosphere and begin flying out into space.

Page 53

'Where are we going to go?' Theomore asks. 'I do not know yet.' Mary asks. Theomore turns towards the window and looks out into space. 'Do you think it was right for us to leave?' He asks. 'I do not know.' Mary replies. Theomore continues looking out into space. End on the Earth slowly getting further and further away.
